A Gift Guide for All the People in Your Life

As a child and teenager it never bothered me that our family didn't celebrate Christmas. My schools were always populated with ethnic minorities and the time off during Christmas break was exiting on it's own. However, as I get older, I feel the mounting obligation to celebrate it, be it with my significant other or for my son who will want to share this experience with his future school mates, or at least to acclimate himself to the traditions.

My favourite part of Christmas so far? Definitely the food! But, I struggled hard on gift giving as I didn't quite understand what to get people who are grown ups... grown ups who can get what they want themselves. Perfume, belts, socks and pyjamas? So impersonal!

This year, I made the conscious effort to think about the little things that one might need or enjoy but wouldn't necessarily buy. Mini luxuries, we'll call them. Mini luxuries.

1. Mandala Magic Colouring Book $9.21
Perfect item for the office buddy who looks like they need 5 minutes to themselves.

2. Remote Control Power Outlet $32.99
Seriously though, you might as well just buy this one for yourself.

3. Japan Crate $12 - $30
Super cute monthly service that packages up treats straight from Japan. They offer monthly or you can save a few bucks and offer 3, 6 or 12 months. To top it off... free international shipping!

4. Scrunchie Set $14.00
I bought a scrunchie from the pharmacy on the way to yoga last week and it changed my life. Do you remember how much you loved scrunchies when you were a kid? It's like riding a bike. You never forget. Give this gift to the girlfriend that seems too cool for school. Laugh over it. Then see her life transform in front of your eyes.

5. Opening Ceremony Beanie $41
There's just something so cool about this beanie. We all have a friend who's eyes would light up for this. He could be that friend who's always wearing black. It's probably them.

6. Chatbooks $10+
This is so perfect for your loved ones who don't get to see you that often. I recently ordered one and I was in love! Download the app, upload your photos and choose your cover. That's it and that's all! They offer some extras like hardcover and collaborate with companies like Rifle Paper Co. to offer their beautiful printed covers. Order now for 20% off!

7. Luggage Scale $8.43
My parents often travel to our mother country for extended periods of time and vice versa, my family from there come visit us here. The one thing that never changed is them packing their suitcases to the brim with gifts and trying to weigh their luggage on a step scale. Obviously this always fails and some schmoozing ensues at the airport. Do you relate to my story? Buy them this and they'll be blown away.

8. Drybar Silk Pillowcase $36
Doesn't this just sound like a little slice of heaven? Sleeping on a silk pillowcase helps against wrinkles, dry skin and hair breakage.

9. Sweetest Kulu Children's Book $9.95 for the board book
This is a great gift for a pregnant friend or a new mom or dad in your life. I read this book to Quinn everyday and love seeing his face look over the beautiful illustrations. It's about little Kulu and all the gifts that his animal friends give him.

10. Rose Gummy Bears $17.99 (for five pack mold)
I bought the molds on Aliexpress a few months back for far cheaper but with Christmas just around the corner, I wouldn't take the chance to order through them but amazon will ship it a lot faster. Regardless, you'll have the molds for life and you can easily DIY some rose gummy bears for Christmas presents, hostess presents, birthday presents and much more!

11. Tile Mate Bluetooth keyfinder $25
Is your significant other always asking you where the keys are?

12. Bite Lip Mask $30
I haven't tried this product myself yet but a friend has and give it two thumbs up, along with the rest of the internet beauty community. The friend or colleague who always wears beautiful lip colours would love this as a present.
