Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil
The past two winters, I had been suffering from extremely dry, flaky and cracking skin around my nose. Nothing I tried did any good and it seemed the more I tried, the worse it got. It hadn't occurred to me that maybe the soap cleansers I was using on my face were too drying for the climate I live in. So I went into Sephora and asked for help choosing an oil cleanser. What a novel idea! When you massage an oil cleanser into your face, it will break down debris and oil and when you rinse it off, you retain your skins natural moistures. Sweet! The Sephora representative suggested I try the Josie Maran oil cleanser, so I did.

I usually do my own research on products before I purchase them and once I got home I read not so great reviews on this product but I still decided to give it a try. Initially it broke me out but I stuck with it since it was a brand new type of product and my skin may need to get used to it.

So it goes on very thick! I use two pumps to be able to massage it properly and DO massage it properly. I use this time as a moment to get the blood flowing into my skin. The Sephora representative said to then add water to turn it milky... but this was a terrible idea. If you do this, it gets messy and dribbles down your arms and makes you suffocatingly angry (pet peeve!). Just massage the product into your face thoroughly and rinse it off. Ta-dah!

I must say, I grew to love it and I haven't gotten any dry patches on my skin yet! I don't think I'll ever go back to a soap cleanser ever again.

Reversa Micellar Water
This product is also a first for me. I never used micellar water and the internet raves about it. I've had this for a while and only started using it daily the past few months. I soak a cotton pad and hold it on each eye for a few seconds before rubbing away eye makeup then I cleanse my skin with the oil cleanser then I use another soaked cotton pad and give a nice final rub down on my face, hairline and neck. Let me tell you, the process of really taking off every last speck of makeup is cathartic.

The selling point of this micellar water over others is that it has a press down pump dispenser at the top.

Vichy Idealia Night Peeling
This overnight peel works instantly -smooth it over your face at night and wake up to brighter and glowing skin. Now, this product is not too strong so you can use it every night. Directions tell you to soak a cotton pad with the product and swipe it over your skin but I feel like this is a great way to waste product, so I shake a bit of it into my palm and then use my fingers to smooth it over my face and neck.

Consonant Dealkalizing Deodorant (still testing)
A friend of mine suggested I try this deodorant when I complained to her about my postpartum stink. With all the mommy blogs I read prior to becoming one myself, not a single one mentioned the transformation my armpits would make. I just about never used deodorant. I was suspicious of the way I needed to scrub the hell out of my armpits to get the residue off. After having a baby, I couldn't stop sweating. Morning and night. Awake or asleep. Sitting or walking. I was a sweating machine. Even if I wasn't sweating... I had a new scent and it wasn't a good one.

My friend swears by this deodorant so I decided to give it a try. It's only been a few weeks I have it and I haven't been using it daily (not used to putting on deodorant so I often forget... until its too late!) but I will definitely post an update on this product next month.

It brings the pH of your skin to 4.5-5 so it creates an environment that's unwelcoming to odour causing bacteria.

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Moroccan Beauty Oil
I'm so in love with all things that smell like roses. I wish I could bathe in this so I can marinate myself with it and smell like it at all times! I love this oil because of it's scent, it's well priced and a little bit of it goes a long way for moisturizing. Although, on its own it falls a little flat for me. What I really like doing is massaging this into my face at night after I've applied Vichy's overnight peel -the two products together is magic. I wake up with glowy, soft and bright skin.

Ouai Hair Oil
This is a pricey little hair oil but I love it! It smells so pretty and is so versatile. Depending on what I'm planning to do with my hair, I use it in many different ways. If I feel like nourishing my hair, I work one pump into damp hair and let me hair hair dry. To tame flyaways, static and defend against weather, I work one pump into clean styled hair and I also add some into second or third day hair to give it a boost.

Avene Rich Compensating Cream
If you're looking for a new winter moisturizer for dry skin, I would suggest you give this one a shot. This cream is both rich and light at the same time... if that makes any sense! The texture is buttery, glides on so smoothly and the scent is light and clean. I find that a little bit of this goes a long way. I like using this when I'm going to be wearing little to no makeup since it keeps the skin very dewy.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask
I received a sample of this with Ipsy and as soon as it was done, I bought a full sized tub. I don't know what it is about manual exfoliation, but I just love it and I really love this one in particular. Once a week I scrub this on and leave it on for 15 minutes, leaving my face soft and bright (I also rub some into my hands!). This stuff also smells amazing. This will definitely be a repurchase for me.

D&G 3 L'Imperatrice
I'm a signature scent type of girl. I don't buy new perfume usually and gifted ones often go unused. I've been using this scent for years and I remember there being a whole line of scents, my favourite being number 3 and I don't think any of them are available except this one. PHEW! This smells like summer fruits and flowers and sandalwood. I wear this all year long. I will wear this til I die.

The Ordinary Natural Moiturizing Factors + HA
Even thought I don't rate this highly, it still does the job. I use this if I'm going to be wearing more makeup than I usually do because this is completely non-greasy. Aside from that, it's a very plain Jane moisturizer.

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask
So I'm using this product weekly and only around my nose. I feel like all peel-off masks will fix my nose pores so that's the area I focus this product in and I reeeeeeaaaally hate nose strips so this is a nice alternative. It is extremely satisfying to peel this off but also, I feel like a cute little panda when I have it on!

  1. Lovely post! Can you put Vichy Idealia Night Peeling under or over night cream? I've been considering buying something like that.

    1. It would be the first layer you put on after cleansing. I highly recommend it if you're just starting to use chemical exfoliators! Thank you for the visit! xo

    1. Your post was great! I actually would scrub my face first then leave it on but after reading your post it makes much more sense now to leave it on first then scrub :) I'm going to give that a try tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for visiting !
