RCMA Palette in Shinto

A few weeks back I was on the quest to purchase The Ordinary's AHA+BHA peel which brought me down the reddit SCA rabbit hole. Once I was able to peel my eyeballs away from all the amazing information I found there, I got back on track and found out that I could order that item from Beautylish

If you're wondering what the big deal was, it's just that the product is not approved by the FDA for sale in Canada... and that made me want it that much more 😂

So to qualify for free shipping on Beautylish, you have to spend 35USD and I wanted to get something that wasn't readily available in in my area. That's when I stumbled onto The Research Council of Makeup Artists aka RCMA.

RCMA was founded in 1962 to develop specialized makeup for the film, television and stage industry. Their products are manufactured with vegetable oils, pure waxes and FDA approved colours. They're made with 50% pigment so a little is all you need while the application blends into the skin naturally as apposed to having a coat of makeup.

I don't tend to wear a lot of foundation because
1) I hate how it makes me look one dimensional
2) I'm shit at putting it on and that's why I look one dimensional

So the fact that this palette has a gradation of 5 shades is very cool. I chose the range called "Shinto" and now I can match my face properly since my forehead is a bit darker, my cheeks are lightest and I can even do a very subtle and natural contour with it. I can also bring this into the summer by predominantly using the darker shades.

I'm waxing poetic now, now that I have the palette in my hands and have used it but like I said, I don't wear a lot on my face so the initial reason my eyes were drawn to this was because it's so slim and compact. The five shades are stored in a thin clear hard case (which does have a slot to put in your own brush!). This takes up such little real estate in your makeup bag, it's perfect for taking on the go. Don't let the small size fool you, when I mentioned that a little goes a long way, it really does (referring back to the high pigment to oil/wax ratio).

The formula has no scent (RCMA never uses perfumes) and it contains no animal extracts, mineral oils or lanolin.

Seriously guys, I'm so excited over this palette. It's a game changer!

Follow the link to Beautylish and you choose between 5 ranges here.

    1. It's minimum 35USD to ship free to the UK as well! It's pretty cool that their minimum purchase is generously low but I just checked and they sell RCMA at these stores in the UK... LOVE MAKE UP, GURU MAKEUP EMPORIUM, BEAUTY BAY, TILT PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP. Maybe if one is close to you, you have the chance of testing it out :D Let me know if you do! xo
