Skincare Goal: Finding my Best Summer Skin

I just returned from vacation on Saturday morning and getting back to icy Canada was a bit of a shock. On the bus ride home at 2 o'clock in the morning, while I was looking outside I wondered to myself if snow always looked so shiny at night. Once we stepped out of the bus we realized that everything was frozen over! Holy shizz! Seriously guys, someone play me the violin cause I'm going to say it... I can't wait til winter is over!

I'm feeling summer vibes over here with my fresh Cuba glow so I wanted to get my skin in it's best shape for summer. I have extremely dehydrated skin on my body, especially my legs which gives it an alligator skin-like appearance. The only thing that has ever worked for me to diminish it was to use extremely abrasive methods like scrubbing vigorously with a body brush.

All those cool body scrubs don't do jack for my legs! So I decided to take the same approach to my legs as I do with my face. NO MORE SOAP! I popped into Sephora and headed straight to L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil. Just like any cleansing oil, this turns milky when in contact with water and washes away leaving your skin nourished with delicious smelling almond oil.

After I'm towel dried off, I like to spritz a lil Lierac Paris Huile Sensorielle on my shoulders just because it smells so good and makes me feel fancy. I then pour a bit of The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution into my hands and smooth it over my legs, feet and then my arms. I let it dry completely and follow with a skin cream. I'm not in love with any in of the ones I own right now but will be making a stop to The Body Shop soon to pick up a yummy body butter.

I started using The Chemistry Brand's Retin-Oil for the small reddish stretch marks on my love handles from my pregnancy. This is a dry oil with 1% retinoid to solve many skin problems like texture, scars, stretch marks and dehydration. The bottle is pretty small so I just use it on my love handles and belly for now but who knows what I'll do when I start seeing results. Would slather myself up head to toe just for some baby soft skin!

I have extremely high hopes to use these products to bring youth back to my skin and not just for a temporary fix but a long term solution. Any one else jonesing for summer time? What are you doing to prepare?
